Their renovated room was much, much better than ours and included a mini fridge. I don't understand why we were not offered this option as well. The third couple arrived before we did and were offered an upgrade upon checking in without an early check-in fee.
We considered standing in line to upgrade but every time we were in the lobby the lineup was ridiculous and we didn't want to waste our vacation time standing in line. We were close to one of the couples we traveled with as requested. It was clean though, and that had been a concern before we arrived. Our room was very old and in desperate need of renovation. In hindsight we should have taken the upgrade. It offered us a room upgrade for $17 per night, which we decided not to take as we had requested a renovated room on our reservation. The kiosk was pretty quick and easy to use.
We could check in at the kiosk at 12:30, which is what we did. We arrived at 12:15 and the check in line was not very long, however check in is not until 1:00 unless we wanted to pay $35 to check in early.
3 couples, all of us first time to Las Vegas and we stayed at the Flamingo because of the great flight/hotel deal we received.
